Not really. Markus explained it best a while ago - it's supply and demand. If your league is financialy well off, players will ask for the money. If it isn't there, they won't ask for it. Plus as previously mentioned you can use a salary cap and set player salary caps based on skill.
Ways to prevent too much money from accumulating in your league include, but aren't limited to, lowering various revenues such as merchandies, ticket prices, salaries (see above), media contracts, avg attendance.
Would be interesting to see your league financial report.
