If you haven't seen one and want to, you should watch Mariners games. Below average to slightly above average pitchers have had the M's batters no hit through the first part of the game many many times this year. And anyone on the Seattle pitching staff is capable of turning one in as well. A few days ago it took a Felix Hernandez single to break up the no-hitter Ricky Nolasco of the Marlins had started. The next day, Chris Volstad had one going into 5 2/3 innings.
Over the past 4 games the Mariners pitchers have an ERA of 1.49, and they've won 1 of those games. They gave up just 27 hits over 42 2/3 innings with Felix Hernandez allowing 2 in a 9 inning start.
M's team batting avg is .228 (bottom of the league). They average only 7.5 hits per game.
Wonder what the odds are of a no-no during a Mariners game for the rest of the year?
