Quick Start templates should not work.

Logos, pictures, uniforms, facegen, etc. will work, no problem.

Schedules will work.

Names will work unless tied to a nations.txt file, since there is no more nations.txt file.

Templates created for OOTP11 can be utilized if you have OOTP11. Create a game from them in OOTP11 and then import that game into OOTP12.
