It's been going a while over here now. Developed into a nice little contest - it began with Martin Rogan, who went on to challenge for and win the Commonwealth title. Other winners include;

Sam Sexton - challenged and won Commonwealth title against Rogan
Michael Lomax - failed challenged for BBBofC title
Martin Murray - Won Commonwealth title & current WBA Inter-Continental
Tony Oakey -
failed challenged for BBBofC title

Those are the winners of the first five competitions; several other notable winners include;

Audley Harrison - Went on to European title and failed challenge for WBA title
Gavin Rees - Challenged and beat Andy Murray for European title.

It has transformed into a real launching pad for the winner - a better mixture would be ideal - and the draws always seem to favour the "name" boxers.

As for the semi-final between
Lynes and El Maachi, I was at the event, and left towards the end of the second round - believing that Lynes would ultimately get the decision. So surprised when checked this morning to see El Maachi had won overall.

Pleased though, put some money on El Maachi at 3/1. Seen final since, Witter didn't seem to turn up. Throughout I was fairly confident he would do enough against anybody in the tournament, main focus Lynes. Yet despite assuming a contest between the two would be a bore, it was interesting at least.

A question for you stateside guys, are there any boxers over there that are boxing with *that* style, I can only liken it to a Naseem Hamed, on times Jones Jr. It seems that a large majority of boxers in Britain wishing to show their class, their skills, (their arrogance) take up this unorthodox style.
