I don't see what the issue is for some people with this addition. I'm really looking forward to it. The vast majority of how I play the game is simply historical replays. It's great to have the option to having a league that evolves differently here and there from real MLB history, but it's also nice to be able to have the most accurate replay available, and that includes having players move from team to team accurately. Does it take some of the fun out? You generally know what will happen, sure. Which is why I don't ever actually control a historical team unless I'm free to run it my own way as opposed to how it was run historically. It's not much different than knowing, as Boston in 1940, that your best hitter is soon going to miss several seasons do to war (which is also an available option).
