Portland, ME., April 18, 2011 (SLCBA): Using a baseball
metaphor to describe the situation in SLCBA baseball: it's still
anybody's ballgame.
Teams and players are up one week, and down the next; or
down one week, and up the next.
Or, in the case of New York, just down.
Seventeen of the 18 non-first place teams in the league are
within 3 games or less of that first place team.
The SL East Southern Division remains the most exciting
division as 2 teams (Georgia and Alabama) share the lead while
the other 2 (Virginia and Florida) stand 1 game out.
Arkansas may be making a move in the Western Division as
they have moved to 3 games above each of their division rivals.
The Pacific Division finally gets a team to stay at .500 or better
and California stands atop that division with a 10-9 record.
With the expected changes to free agency and trading rules, a
Phoenix may rise from the ashes, but as for now, it aint' over 'till
it's over.
