Just started a new fictional league game. My team is the Manhattan Fire. I did a draft to start but set certain conditions for my team. they were:
-1 5star player
-max 3 30+ aged players
-1 4 star+ reliever
They limited me and weakened my team a bit which I liked. My first pick was difficult. I was between going for a 5 star pitcher but 33 which would use up one of my older spots, a 4.5 star pitcher who was 28 and a five star batter. I spent a while between them but went with the 4.5 star pitcher. I then took Randy Compton (LF). I went through the rest of my picks and sticking to the limits I set.
I ended up with some solid starting pitchers and a really good closer. My Relievers are a bit weaker but so far are holding up ok. My batting is fairly strong but I have some weaknesses in my fielding. Randy Compton has been fantastic so far and is third in SL1 for HR and 3rd for RBI. Fernando Mireles (4.5 pitcher) has also been really good so far as my main pitcher.
My record is 18-12 so far. I was lucky to pull an easy division. The three teams, Dalls, detroit and Sacramento, all have losing records at the moment. But the league in general is strong enough. I decided to set Dallas as my division rival but also the Brooklyn Icebergs. I picked them both for proximity (geography) and the fact that they are icebergs and I am fire. I thought that worked nicely. I tend to play more of these "rivalry" games rather than simming them.
