Only problem becoming with that is my general lack of knowledge in baseball aside from current day players.
Where i live no-one lives or breathes baseball and it's all about football (soccer).
Maybe if some people can come with suggestions of historical players to take and then i can run with that.
Only question about Historical players is... Do they start with their skill at the same level of potential or do they actually have a realistic grow period.
I got around 8-9 guys signed up right now and that is also the level i will try to keep.
I thank for all the help i am getting and hopefully i can find a good solution for this problen

most players grow..Randy Johnson in 1989 has a ton of BB vs Randy Johnson in 2001 is gonna lead the league in wins and k's (more or less)
well how many players r u trying to add and what type of player do u u want each to be and i will give ya some examples.
but it all depends on which yr u start from with the players, Sammy Sosa in 1991 is gonna suck but by 1998 is gonna hit close to 60 hr. it also depends on what league settings u use. If your league is using league settings from 1906 sosa would be lucky to hit more then 20 (10 might be high also) vs league settings from 1998.
