Totally off topic, I see John Mabry played first base against you in that game. He was one of my two super-subs (Edgardo Alfonzo was the other) in a Strat-O-Matic league for four pennant-winning seasons in the late 90s/early 2000s.
He backed up first, left and right with good defense while also providing timely pinch hitting. (Is pinch hitting ever untimely?) Alfonzo backed up second, third and short, moving the starters aside a couple of those years. Mabry could also play a decent third, but there was no need.
