Yes, it was a remarkable season for them. Just to make the playoffs after 19 years was something. The Crushers had lost out 2 or 3 years in a row and finished second, losing out by one game each year.
This year they finally made the playoffs... and amazingly even won the Pro Cup as a sixth-seed.
I'm going to research it, but I think this was the biggest upset in Pro Cup history. Ozarka looked unbeatable when compared to Crystal Lake. There was no way the Crushers could outhit the Naturals (.248 BA to .294 BA). They had good pitching, but not as good as Ozarka. Yet they not only outhit the Nats, they outpitched them, too.
UNBELIEVABLE.
