BEANEATERS FINALLY BRING IT HOME
The Boston Beaneaters are deserved champions of baseball sparking celebrations throughout New England and the burroughs of Boston. Boston has become the unofficial capatal of baseball having won 5 championships between their two teams.
The Beaneaters had fallen short the past two seasons and the third attempt was the charge as the Beaneaters completely outplayed their opponents from Louisville and won everygame played outscoring their opposition 36-16. Credit was given to the front office that made the appropriate risky changes to make a great team into a champion; the late season addition of Herman Long for popular Billy Nash.
Ed Delahanty proved his star status as well batting .421 for the series and showing his leadership in the middle of the order. Teams will now scramble to try and close the gap with the Beaneaters who are as good as it gets.
A recap of the World Series shows that it was one of the most lopsided series in the history of the game:

George Decker hit a two run home run to tie the game for the Beaneaters who had fallen behind early. Boston came around to take a two run lead from a Herman Long single in the 8th. With the tying run on second base Gus Weyhing completed what he started by getting Dummy Hoy to pop out. This was the closest game of the series.

A six run first inning and the Beaneaters left any drama out of game two. Ed Delahanty went 4-5 and Germany Long drove in three runs as the two hitters dominate Lousville pitching. Bob Black cruised to the complete game win despite the four errors by the defense behind him.

Louisville had their turn at bad defense and commited five errors when they couldnt afford it. Bill Dahlen scored four runs and Hugh Duffy drove in three. Canonball Weyhing got his second win of the series in a game that really again wasnt close.

The clincher was a sloppy game but again the Beaneaters were too much. Hugh Duffy went 4-6 and ended the series with a .500 average. The Beaneaters ended up with 20 hits and had an emphatic clinching win. No one could really argue that the Beaneaters were in complete control. The final out was an ultimate relef for the franchise who brought the title home for the first time since 1874.

League NotesAfter a good season where they finished in second place the Philadelphia Phillies still fired their manager Enrique Acosta. The Phillies as everyother team look to close the gap with Boston.
The Chicago White Sox fired their GM after yet another down year. Orlando Ramirez was one of the most active GM's in the league but the moves just wernt traslating into results.
Mike Partin was let go by the Detroit Tigers as their general manager. Partin had an embarassing record of 40-92.
