Edwards had 53 catches this season for 7 TDs. In what was the biggest game of the season, he caught only 3 passes out of 7 thrown his way. If you want to debate whether Edwards "turned out to be ok," no problem. I never said Edwards wasn't "ok". But a number 3 overall pick being "ok" means that he is a disappointment. A number 3 overall pick isn't supposed to be "ok."

I will go a step further. Edwards can be good. I saw it in Cleveland. I never said he sucked. He is just wildly inconsistent, and he hasn't changed much in New York. He had 8 games this season with 4 or more catches. He had 10 games with less than 4. He broke 100 receiving yards in a game ONCE. If he could be consistent, he could be a very good receiver in this league. As it is, he's just a solid receiver. Nothing more.

And I actually had to root for the Steelers two weeks in a row. I will never root for the Ravens and I could not root for the Jets. All they do is talk. As much as I hate the Steelers, they do their talking on the field and I can respect that. Not that I think they will get past the Packers. Packers are a damn good team and Pittsburgh doesn't play a consistent 4 quarters of football.
I believe that Edwards' play this season is more a result of Sanchez. All in all, I believe that Sanchez just looks really, really bad on the field. I mean, I've watched Bills games, Dolphins games, Lions games, Cowboys games, I've seen plenty this season, and their quarterbacks always seemed to have that game every once in a while where the moved their team downfield well. You can't really say that about Sanchez. You want to talk about a bust? How about a 6th overall pick that the team that drafted him traded a 2nd round pick and 3 decent players for to trade up and draft, with 38 starts in his first two NFL seasons, still looking dazed and confused, consistently missing throws. If Sanchez doesn't improve in his third season, I will be 100% on the Sanchez hate bandwagon. I mean, with how the Jets' defense plays in the second half of games, any QB could have led this team into the playoffs.

I called for the Jets to pick Flacco. I PRAYED they'd stay where they were in the draft and pick Freeman rather than trade up and pick nanny boy Sanchez. Look at the terrible quarterbacking they've gotten, and look at the success Flacco and Freeman have had this season. It just goes to show, 1 big game in college does not mean that a player will have success at the next level (or a huge combine, for that matter; I had also prayed the Jets wouldn't pick Vernon Gholston, and we all saw how that went).
