In the National League, Boston's Arnold Jacobs is awarded his third consecutive Cartwright. New York Gothams Seamus O'Grady is given the Chadwick Award. Tim Majors of Louisville is named the top amateur.

In the Association, the Cartwright and Chadwick are presented to a pair of Cincinnati team mates, Williams Easton and Chris Parish. It is the second consecutive Chadwick for Parish. The top amateur is Bernhard Gilliam of the Philadelphia Quakers.
