RU #1 Newcomer Named
First-year jitters didn't bother this year's top rookie, Marv Cook of Waleska. Cook performed like a vet on the hill as his poise, talent and good numbers parlayed themselves into the Ruthlandian Union Rookie of the Year Award. His stats included 46 relief appearances, 57 innings, 39 strikeouts, 19 saves and a 2.05 ERA. The Waleska relief ace earned 10 wins against 5 losses.

Number two in the voting was Ancona's Bud Garner, who chalked up a 12-7 record with a 3.72 ERA. First baseman Jimmy Kuhn of San Dimas came in third. He batted .275 with 9 homers, 76 RBIs and 78 runs scored.

Villanueva Grabs TU 2019 Rookie Honors
Eduardo Villanueva started his Tycobbian Union career in style, capping it off with the Rookie of the Year Award for 2019. The 24-year-old left fielder for the Arroyo Grande Suns played in 145 games, hitting .321 with 159 hits. He totaled 28 home runs, 110 RBIs and 84 runs scored.

Villanueva got most of his competition from South Fork's standout left fielder Patric Giles, who hit for a .312 average with 32 home runs, 96 RBIs and 94 runs scored. Third was White River reliever Arnie Montel. The 22-year-old closer was 8-2 with a very strong 1.75 ERA and 7 saves in his first season.
