One of the main changes I've done to your DB is with the teams. Since I came from the world of table top games (APBA/Strat), my worlds are usually ML only. I've tried playing with the minors, but I find, I really don't care what happens there.

So, with so many additional players available in your DB (Negro, Minors, Japan etc) plus the possibility of longer careers, I decided to modify the teams file to get more teams in. So far I've just changed 1901-1960, (which seems to work in a couple of tests) and here is what I did.

I've left the "standard" ML for 1901-1924

At that point I move all the existing teams to a two division AL with the East being the AL teams and the west being the NL teams. (This keeps a ML 'historic' NL/AL playoff in place).

Then I add the following cities/teams (from the PCL and Negro Leagues) to the new National League:
(1925):
Eastern Division
Kansas City Monarchs
Indianapolis Clowns
Newark Eagles
Birmingham Barons

Western Division
Oakland Oaks
Los Angeles Angels
Portland Beavers
San Francisco Seals

Then in 1935 I add more teams to the PCL/NL, making it look as follows:

National
Eastern Division
Newark Eagles
Kansas City Monarchs
Birmingham Barons
Mexico City Red Devils
Havana Sun Kings
Jersey City Skeeters
Indianapolis Clowns
Memphis Blues

Western Division
Los Angeles Angels -
San Francisco Seals
Oakland Oaks
Portland Beavers
Seattle Rainiers
Hollywood Stars
San Diego Padres
Sacramento Solons

Other changes/adjustments goes as follows (1950-60)

Actual ML changes kept:
1954 - AL StB moves to Balt
1955 - AL Phil moves to KC-A
Additional modified changes:
1960 - NL HAV moves to Houston
1960 - AL KC-M (or KC-A) moves to Minnesota

--------------------------------------------------------

These are my projected moves (any ideas/comments) without any dates set dates yet.

Jersey City moves to Atlanta
Mexico City moves to Texas
Hollywood moves to Montreal
Sacramento moves to Toronto
Indianpolis moves to Arizona
--------------------------------------------------------

At some point I plan to add a few more teams:

ADD Florida
ADD Tampa Bay
ADD (Dominican Republic)
ADD (Puerto Rico)

It's still a long way from being 'perfect', but at least for me, it makes it a little more 'mine' rather then being 'just another replay'.

side note:
I've also noticed that if a team (or teams) automatically leaves the league, with out a new team(s) coming in to the league (and drafting from the other teams) some of the players may be stuck in limbo (player hell). Even if a new team comes in, if they are not picked in the draft, they may be stuck out of the league on their old team. (I am guessing that if you are playing with salary/FA the might come back when their contract is up - i play with salaries turned off)
