Ed Brophy has never revealed how this whole thing works—let alone revealed the number of votes each nominee receives. The Baltimore Veteran Boxers Association has tried in vain to find out how many votes shy Harry Jeffra has been to election.

Consequently, I no longer see the relevance of the IBHOF when the names of Sven Ottke, Naseem Hamed, Sammy Serrano, etc. are on the ballot to the exclusion of Tony DeMarco, Davey Moore, Gus Lesnevich and other worthy but forgotten fighters . It seems obvious that Ed Brophy goes out of his way to ensure that the ballots include a lot of living people with greater emphasis on fighters from post 1985 to present.
Isn't a big issue that fighters that retired after 1942 are lumped in with the fighters of the last few decades and a significant chunk of the BWAAwriters that are allowed to vote on Modern inductees are not historian types that would be able to analyze guys like Cocoa Kid and Tiger Jack Fox since they would only have a passing knowledge (if any) to properly assess their worth?
