2018 IPA All-Star Game At Kraft Stadium In Eastshore
RU Stars Trim TU Stars 4-3
At Kraft Stadium in Eastshore, the Ruthlandian All-Stars broke a 4-game losing streak with a 4-3 triumph over the Tycobbian All-Stars in the 18th IPA All-Star classic... CF Vic Valenti (Beechwood) socked a 2-run pinch homer in the bottom of the sixth to give the RU a 4-1 lead and they held on to win for only the 5th time in 18 games in All-Star competition... 3B Kendry Moulton (Hartsdale) and C Bucky O'Brian (Mahaska) smacked solo homers in the sixth and seventh to narrow the score to 4-3, but that was as close as the TU Stars could get... Tycobbia had the advantage in hits 8-7... Ilya Szabo (Colfax) logged the win with a scoreless second inning, while starter Tiago Torres (Luxora) took the loss... Torres allowed two runs in the second inning, neither one of them was earned... Tycobbian committed 3 miscues in the game and it cost them... Valenti was chosen the game's MVP.
