Even though he did not win another MVP award, Dan Brouthers of the Brooklyn Bridegrooms did win the batting title with a .329 average just ahead of Buck Ewing.
George Zettlein was fired as manager of the St. Louis Browns. Zettlein is finding life harder as a manager then he did as a player.
The Philadelphia Athletics and the Boston Americans are also looking for new managers this offseason.
No significant season records were broken for the first time as most team are now comfortable with the 154 game schedule.
