One of my favorite scenarios is the PCL going rogue in 58 due to scoring a tv deal with DuMont Television Network a couple of years earlier.
another interesting scenarion is a canadian league starting in after the first world war and slowly expanding west and south.
The sempiternal modern indy league scenario works well too.
