Decade Old League Completes Successful First Season in Re-boot
Seeks New GMs
Electronic Major League Baseball, a league originally formed in 2000 and now re-booted as eMLB 2.0, had a wonderful first season in its rebirth, and found the Detroit Tigers and longtime eMLBer Ken Lonc winning the World Series!
Now, a week into Spring Training, and we need
TWO GMs. The following teams are available to be acquired:
Philadelphia (73-89, 4th Place in '98): The Phillies were designed to predominantly be a team focused on youth building when first constructed, but of course with youth comes the need for a veteran presence. That was what Curt Schilling (17-10, 2.44 ERA) brought. The All-Star had a commanding season, worthy of some Cy Young consideration (Finished 4th in voting). The 32 year old Ace is looking for another strong year complimented by 22 year old Randy Wolf, and 28 year old Wilson Alvarez.
The Phillies have some noteworthy talent at various spaces on the roster. Behind the plate, they have Jorge Posada (.297, 22 HR, 107 RBI), a promising young third baseman named Scott Rolen (.284, 18 HR, 69 RBI), and Bobby Abreu (.325, 25 HR, 88 RBI). The team also took a chance in adding 34 year old Jose Canseco (.248, 32 HR, 85 RBI with Toronto in '98).
Prospects/Draft Results: The team has promising players in 20 yr old Jimmy Rollins, who may be a starter in 2000, and 21 yr old center fielder Aaron Rowand. In the draft, they went after 17 yr old prospect RF Alex Fernandez, and to shore up their pitching staff immediately, they drafted 27 year old Chris Holt, one of a few "ready made" players that appear ready to jump right into the Bigs.
-----
Cincinnati (45-117): Through some unfortunate matters in real life, the Cincinnati Reds game plan of developing for the future became a bust early on, as the team was hoping to at least win 25 games more than it did, but was a clear victim of neglect.
The team does have some youth in the pitching department that a GM will need to be patient with. Blake Stein, Brett Tomko, and Benj Sampson, all 25 and under, could provide for a promising rotation if given some patience and opportunity. Jeff Juden will probably act as your Ace, while he's more a #4 starter realistically speaking. The team did take a big chance on Jose Silva, who's #2/#3 material if he can go deeper into games. A 23 yr old Scott Williamson provides a future Closer.
Prospects/Draft Results: With the bad comes the good. The team drafted Albert Pujols with the #1 overall pick, and is currently negotiating with him. He could be the cornerstone of their long-term future. Also of promise is 2nd round selection, CF Rick Asadoorian, perhaps better than anything they have right now. The best potential names they have in the minors include Austin Kearns, Gabe Kapler, Rafael Soriano, Marcus Giles, and Adam Dunn.

Special Note: As always, with ten years of RL history, former eMLB GMs still in good standing will often be given first opportunity to get back in the league.
