2015 IPA Pro Cup Final 4 Series

Taranto Eliminates Marston 8-5 In RU Final 4
The Taranto Tars tore into Marston for 8 runs in the first three innings and came away with an 8-5 victory to eliminate the Nine in six games in the Ruthlandian Final 4... Taranto qualified for its first IPA Pro Cup Final and will go up against the Bay St. Clair Buccaneers of the Tycobbian Union beginning Tuesday in Taranto at the Palazzo di Sport... It's a best-of-seven series... The Buccaneers have never played for the Pro Cup either.

RF Augie Marshall (.364) and pitcher Chazzie DeBartolo (.375) led the Tars attack with 3 RBIs each... Marshall smashed a 3-run shot in the 5-run second and DeBartolo got his with a sac fly in the second and a 2-run single in the third... DeBartolo (3-0 4.45) got the win, but allowed 5 runs on 9 hits... Randy Pitri finished up for DeBartolo and blanked Marston over the final 3 frames on 2 hits for the save... The Nine rapped 11 hits and 3 home runs, but got too deep in the hole early in the game and couldn't make up the difference... 3B Jimmy Holman (.300), RF Richie Mazzone (.341) and LF James Yardley (.324) all went deep for Marston... It was Yardley's 5th in the postseason and Mazzone's 4th... Dennis Townsend (1-2 3.22) suffered the loss as he was tagged for 6 runs in just 2 innings, 4 of them unearned... the Tars only had 6 hits.
