Memphis slugger rips three homers in win

MEMPHIS -- "Pops" has plenty to spare.

Memphis' Willie Stargell continues to assert himself as one of the PBL's premier run producers. Tonight, Stargell slammed a trio of homers as the Strummers rolled to an 8-5 win over the Charlotte Cougars.

Stargell, who has driven in more than 100 runs each of the past three seasons, went 4-for-4 on the night, improving his average to .327, while blasting shots 5, 6 and 7 for the last place Strummers, who have started the season 8-18.

"Good game for me and the team," Stargell said afterward. "Hopefully this can start something big for us."
