In Classic Series Brooklyn Is The Champion

The World Championship is often a mixed bag to if it will live up to the expectations that everyone has going into it; in 1889 there was no such problem.

The Brooklyn Bridegrooms celebrated ther fourth world championship after beating the Boston Americans four games to two. Four of the six games were decided by one run and three of the games were decided at the last at bat. Brooklyn took the first three games of the series but the Amercians didnt go easily and made quite a series of it.

As we look at the recap of the series it should be noted that this was the best attended world series in baseball history. The celebrations in Brooklyn continue as the Bridegrooms are the at the pinnacle of the game of baseball that is rumored to go under transition the American Association may be a league of the past.
