The pitching wasnt the most dominant and in some areas age began to show but this Yankee team was still great and polished. CC Sabathia and Mariano Rivera are more intimidating on the mound then most anyone and the hitting stars simply couldnt be stopped in big games. ARod finally came away a winner on the big stage and proved he can be great when he is needed to be. A typical Yankee powerhouse from top to bottom.
1989 SF Giants

Manager: Roger Craig
Ball park: Candelstick Park
Runs scored: 699
Runs allowed: 600
Home Runs: 141

Key players: Kevin Mitchell OF (.291, 47, 125), Will Clark 1B (.333, 21, 111), Rick Rueschel SP (17-8, 2.94)
A team built in the mold of their leader Roger Craig, the pitching staff was tough to beat and kept opponents down in the score. Will Clark was the emotional leader of the team both at the plate and in the field, Clark seemed to come through everytime in 89. Kevin Mitchell had a year that couldnt be ignored, he did it all with the bat. The Giants werent a great team but still found a way to win a pennant and surely are a side with grit that could play with anyone.
