Interesting notion. The team strategies that you get when you create a game are essentially random. As a general rule they don't vary too much from the midpoint on each slider, so that what you get as a whole is pretty much default decision making with a little variety from team to team.
When you set those sliders you are just de-randomizing it. But you would be doing the same thing if you called the plays yourself in each game. In my view, setting the sliders and then letting the AI manage the games according to those sliders makes for a much more competitive situation v. the AI than if you called the plays yourself.
