Some of this is hindsight, of course, but I still believe "rules" limiting innings pitched mess with decades of baseball wisdom. Pitchers have flourished and teams have won by having a regular starting pitcher rotation. Pitchers get into a rhythm and groove and don't like disruptions and long layoffs. Taking them out of that rhythm and groove messes with their heads while supposedly saving their arms, an unproven benefit I might add.

Agree on the "rules" messing with pitchers. Joba got into a nice groove in the second half and then they started having him skip turns in the rotation, pitch on long rest, whatever and he was never the same. It took him getting back to the pen for a few weeks to get his head together.
