The Braves dfafted Webster out of Lamar in the supplementary round of the 2017 draft. He'll probably never hit for average, but that power looks legit. He took advantage of the playing time created by injuries to Gamel and Cabrera, and now he's locked up a starting job.
None of the key players on the 2022 Braves are eligible for free agency this year. If Gamel (age 37 in '23), Cabrera (36), and Vazquez (34) don't collapse, and if Medlen (37) and Clippard (38) can hang on, the '23 Braves could look a whole lot like the '22 aggregation. They did play four games better than their Pythagorean projection, however, so I'd say Braves fans should temper their optimism just a bit.
