Late Pirate Error Opens Door For Phils Sweep

PNC Park, Pittsburgh, Pa.- An 8th inning throwing error by Pirates 3B Andy LaRoche opened the door for the Phillies, who wound up with three runs in the inning on their way to their 5th straight victory, a 5-2 triumph over snake bitten Pittsburgh. For the Phils, outfielders Jayson Werth and Raul Ibanez carried the offense, with Werth homering and knocking in 3 and Ibanez homering and knocking in 2. On the hill, starting pitcher JA Happ was fabulous, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits over 8 innings pitched, Brad Lidge picked up the save.
