Marcum and the Bees melted down in the bottom of the 5th when the Yankees roasted them for 12 runs, a single to Teixeira, a walk to A-Rod, a single by Headley, a 3-run double by Swisher, an intentional walk (!) to Ishikawa, an error on 1B Brian Dopirak to load the bases again, a triple by “Broadway Jerry” Owens to clear them again, a double by Aybar to score Owens, and FINALLY a new pitcher, Josh Roenicke, to bail Marcum out. But the fun started right back up again as Marcum walked Cano, gave up an RBI single to Teixeira, another RBI single to A-Rod, struck out Headley to retire his first batter, a 3-run homer to Swisher (his 6th RBI of the inning), another walk to Ishikawa, and Jason Frasor came on to give up a single and then get “Broadway” Jerry to fly out to end the inning with 12 runs on 9 hits and an error and 2 men left on base (!) and the Yankees ahead 13-0.

It ended 15-0, but by spending all the runs the Bombers went on to lose the next two games to the last-place Bees
