It occurs to me that there is another simple step we ought to look at:
When you launch OOTP, go to Load Game instead to Continue [Your League]. The Load Game should take you to wherever the game thinks your saved games are located. If it has the correct location (and make sure it is), you should be able to point to your league and start it up. Otherwise, you should be able to use that window to point the game to the correct Saved Games folder. At least it should give you some more info about your situation.
