Well, the actual rule is that the pitcher chooses first. The problem, clearly, is switch hitters, but if you have the pitcher pitch to the batter's weakness if there's a difference in the batter's ratings vs L / R, or his own strength if there isn't (with "flip a coin" if there's no advantage) then it shouldn't be an issue.

As far as Eri Yoshida - I just create "her" in the game and ignore all the male pronouns LOL. I know there will NEVER been a female player option even if Yoshida does actually one day make a major league roster by the time OOTP 22 comes out.

That's a different issue lol. I agree with you though, but if she ever did make the majors I would be clamouring for it to be put in.
I haven't actually created Yoshida in a game, but I have made one or two of my female friends before. I usually add "Is a girl!" to their history.
