Correct again! Except I would probably say it would definitely have happened, instead of it could have.
I am not even an A's fan, so I am not swayed by that. Facts are facts and Beane has put the A's in a position to win consistently for many years, and even the last few, while they weren't contenders, they still weren't as bad as they honestly should have been. Now, the payoff is starting to come from these last few years of mediocrity.
But yea, how great would the thrifty A's be if Beane just died. The World Series would easily be theirs for the taking.
