I posted this topic in the OOTP4 feedback forum, but after a repeat occurence it seems like a bug.

In one simmed season, Team 1 and Team 2 swapped Player A and Player B five times between them during in the trading deadline, and three seasons later Teams 3 and 4 swapped Player C for Player D 14 (fourteen) times at the deadline. There was one other instance in each of these seasons of a player being traded multiple times between teams at the deadline.

Obviously this scenario should not occur, and it seems like a code in the trading AI forbidding a player from being traded back to the same team during the same season should be included to prevent this problem, as has been suggested by others.
