While I know MLB is loath to reverse umpiring calls, this one instance seems pretty cut and dried.
1. The outcome of the game would not change. It was the final out of the game. The Tigers still won. The two teams records would not change.
2. It is not a "maybe" call, like a ball/strike call, or a bang/bang play at first. It was extremely obvious on replay that he was out - not even close.
3. The Indians would not protest a reversal.
4. This is SUCH a historic event (only 20 ever) that it just HAS TO be recognized.
