Baltimore Manager Gets the Pink Slip; Montoya Let Go
BALTIMORE, MD. August 1, 1914 - Having reportedly lost the team weeks ago, it was no shock when Baltimore club called a press conference today to announce the firing of manager Alfonso Montoya. Commenting on his firing, the always candid and honest Montoya said, "I was brought in here to win and just didn't get it done. I have no one but myself to blame".
Jonathan Webster, 45, has been hired for the job.
