I wouldn't try to disagree with that observation. I've never played earlier than the 1950s. OOTP tries to satisfy a lot of gamers having different interests, etc., and ends up not doing everything well for each of those. Consider that the game still doesn't have a financial model that works properly for the reserve clause era (or what we call pre-free agency). So, it would not surprise me that OOTP is somewhat handicapped when it comes to modeling the deadball era. There's no harm in asking Markus to do something about it, though.
