Ed Gale Selected 1st Overall
BROOKLYN, NY. June 16, 1914 - Ed Gale, the 23-year-old LSU graduate and Boston native was the first player selected yesterday in the 1914 Amateur Baseball Draft in New York. The 6'5" right-handed-pitcher was widely considered to be one of the best players in the draft, and almost certainly the top pitcher.
Mr. Gale is expected to command a high signing bonus if Brooklyn can sign the phenom.
