US 30-man preliminary rosters. The comment threads are abuzz with the predictable "How could [Bradley/Capello] [select/leave off] [insert player name here]."
Interesting to me is that some people think Charlie Davies should have been selected to the US squad. Pardon my ignorance, but I don't see what benefit there is to bringing on a player who's certain (as far as I know) not to be fit in time for the competition. The argument seems to be either that 1) Davies' selection to the 30-man would bring about a much-needed boost in morale, to which I retort that if that is necessary we are in a lot of trouble, or 2) that Davies is better than the alternatives at forward, which I have a hard time believing given the circumstances.
