I just wanted to quote a genius from the Off Season Yankees Thread...

Once again, the Vazquez deal is awful. Will Vazquez really be any better then the combo of Hughes/Joba/Aceves would have been in the 4/5 slot? I think not. While I agree, Melky certainly is not an all-star caliber outfielder, you do not need an all-star caliber player at every position. Melky was a very solid fielding outfielder, who had some big clutch hits this past year for the Yankees. There was no need to move him for a pitcher who has consistently been awful in the American League. How long till you think the Yankee fans are screaming at Vazquez for his awful performance, the end of April or beginning of May???

I still see no big deal in Granderson, but I am willing to give him a shot and prove me wrong. I just feel like we now have two Nick Swisher's in the lineup and .250 hitters are not what make the Yankees win.

I think the singing of Nick Johnson today means we have seen the end of Damon on the Yankees. I for one am all for seeing Gardner get a chance to start on a every day basis. He would be tremendous as a #9 hitter. He has a pretty good eye and with his speed he can easily bat at least .275 just beating out ground balls. Heck, I would not be surprised to see him bat even .290 with a very nice OBP.

OK, I am done
