Lawrence Bostick Out for 5-6 Months
PHOENIX, AZ. March 28, 1912 - Lawrence Bostick, widely regarded as one of the league's best young players, will miss the majority of the 1912 season due to a broken kneecap.
The left-fielder, known from his college days as a very good defensive player, showed his range yesterday in a spring game against Pittsburgh. On a long foul ball down the left-field line, Bostick chased it down and made a fantastic diving catch but landed on his knee very awkwardly. Unable to stand, he was carried off the field. The Whales now have a very big hole to fill in their lineup.
