The 18 pitchers that have thrown perfect games IRL include
this guy,
this guy, and most famously
this guy. I wouldn't consider any of these three to have had a better career than Beattie, but that's besides the point. The point is that throwing perfect games has absolutely nothing to do with a pitcher's eventual career accomplishments. Perfect games do not a great pitcher make, unless you think any of these gentlemen, and you might as well throw Len Barker in there as well, deserve a plaque in Cooperstown.
