I get that. However, I do think the game should maybe then make guys get tired earlier.
In the situation above, Liriano ended up giving up a bases loaded double to tie the game at 5. He then faced a right hander, got him out AND came out for the 8th and finally got taken out after a walk and a base hit. That would NEVER happen in today's game.
I know that I can go in and change the strategies for individual players in my own organization, but it's kind of tedious that I'd have to change it for every player. It'd be great if there was a general toggle where I could say "pitchers under the age of x should not throw more than x amount of pitches in a game/innings in a season".
