16 Hit Attack Propel Yanks to Win

New York- The 1927 New York Bronx Bombers looked more like their expected selves in Game 2 and rode the crest of their dramatic game 1 win. The Yankees beat the Pirates 7-4 and pounded out 16 hits.

Babe Ruth did hit another home run, his second of thr series, but it was only a solo shot and a side note this time. The Yanks jumped on Pirates starter Bob Friend for three runs in the led by doubles from Mark Koeing and Earle Combs. The game remained close until the 6th inning when New York built on a 4-2 lead. Lou Gehrig drove in a run and Bob Muesel smoked a two run double to put the Yankees up 5 runs and clinch this game.

It couldnt have been a more perfect day for Yankee fans, a long Ruth homer, a 16 hit parade, and a dominant 2 games to none lead in the series.

The Pirates need a miracle heading to Forbes Field.
