Royals Continue Comeback

The Series that seemed to be over after game 2 is now all even. The 1980 Kansas City Royals fed off the momentum of their last game and the noise of their fans to take game 4, coming from behind, by a score of 8-4.

The Royals again fell behind early and trailed 2-0 after the second inning. Willie Wilson tied up the game with a single in the 5th inning off David Cone, who was great through 4 but now was beginning to show rust in his stamina.

The Royals then put their stamp of this game in the 6th inning. The Royals batted around, knocked Cone out of the game, and scored 6 times to book their ticket bck to New York. Cone actually struck out the first batter of the inning but he reached through a wild pitch. Then Mr. Clutch drove in 2 runs with a double and Willie Wilson immediatelly followed with a fantastic triple. The six runs left the Yankees wondering where this team gets all its energy.

So now a great series comes down to just one game. All eyes will be on Andy Pettitte and Larry Gura as they start the decider.
