Prospects would not be eligible to play in our ML level until they play in the real MLB. Basically - instead of scouting through OOTP to find Diamonds in the Rough, you would have to scout real life minor league reports. How would we handle new prospects? Well, naturally, we'd have our own Amateur Draft Each year, same as real-life. The only difference is that we would do it in the offseason to fill in some of the empty time.

How would this be done within OOTP....

1. You'd have your major league roster of 25 men.

2. You'd have a reserve roster, who make up the remainder of your 40-man roster plus a couple extras.

3. Prospects would be tracked on the website, not from in-game. Each prospect will be created in-game and added to your reserve roster the year after his major league debut is made. Or, if he has never debuted but it is certain that his debut will come in the current year, he'll be created in advance.

4. Games will be simmed in OOTP and we'll do 1 sim per week, consisting of 1 week of real time.

Other stuff

1. The Amateur Draft will be very important way to stockpile good prospects, meaning you'll have to scout players just like real teams have to.

2. You'll have to follow your prospects and other teams prospects throughout the year to see if the stock is rising or falling. Just as real teams would have to.

3. You'll have to follow your real players too, note of them improving or declining to make your decisions accordingly.

4. Big focus on Free Agency. It will be much more prolonged than normal leagues and it will be done out of game.

5. Obviously a huge emphasis on stable GM's who want to really live out the life of managing an ML team, and not want instant gratification of having 10 seasons of history instantly.

If this sounds interesting to you or you'd like to discuss then by all means post. But if you hate the idea, I'm not looking to be flamed...
Projections made by Chone Figgins?
