Yanks Mistake Free; Thinking Sweep

Game 2 of this big series goes to the Bronx Bombers. The Yankees come back again to topple the Orioles who wasted an 11 strike out performance from the young Jim Palmer.

Again the Birds took the early lead as Luis Aparicio hammered a double in the second inning off of Monte Pearson for two runs. Joe Dimaggio hit a solo shot in the 4th but going into the 6th inning the Orioles held a 3-1.

In the 6th the Yankees turned up the heat again, this is what great teams do. The Yanks loaded the bases and Palmer felt the pressure walking in a run and then letting up an RBI single to Red Rolfe. The Yanks scored three runs in the frame and went away with the lead.

The Yankee bullpen then closed the door and New York took the first two games of the series by playing smart and timely baseball.

The Orioles will be fighting for their lives going to Baltimore for Game 3.
