My take that I posted somewhere else:

1) It makes it easier to take that loss in that we were in it the entire game with 5 turnovers.
2) It makes it easier to take that loss in that there wasn't any BLATANT bad calls. Sure, you can say that a few plays in OT could have gone the Vikings way, but they took their time and probably was not enough evidence to overturn.
3) It makes it hard to take that loss in that there were twelve guys in the huddle after a T.O. Who do you blame for that? Without that penalty, the Vikings run the ball (there is no INT) and Longwell kicks a game-winning field goal.

If you'd have told me that the Vikings would have a 300 yard passer in Favre, a 100 yard runner in Peterson and hold Drew Brees to under 200 passing yards; I'd have pegged us at 40+ points.

If you'd have told me that the Vikings would turnover the ball 5 times, I'd have pegged the Saints at 40+ points.

It's a game of inches. Inches to cause a turnover on downs. Inches to cause a dropped ball. Inches to cause a completed hand-off.

Whatever. The Vikings were the best team in the NFC and possibly the NFL. They lost today because the Saints kicked a field goal in OT. Blame it on Brett if you must, Blame it on Peterson if you must, Blame it on the refs, if you must. Things just didn't fall into place in this game for the Vikings.

In summary,
1) The Vikings played like the best team in the NFL.
2) The Vikings didn't get screwed out of a win.
3) The Vikings lost the game because they didn't win it.
4) The Vikings had plenty of chances to win it.
5) The Saints were who I thought they were.
6) Brett Favre needs to be back next year.

That's my piece, there will be no more new status shares (status comments, yes...no more status shares) about the Vikings until moves are made in the offseason.
