The whole steroid era thing seems kind of overblown to me, but the part that stood out in his confession and apology was the "I wish I never played in the steroid era". Well, he was an active part of that era. I don't know what he means by that. Did he feel pressured to do it to compete? How rampant was it? Does he just lament the fact that this will tarnish him. Wish there was a follow up question to that one. It is like a slave owner saying after abolition that they wish they did not live in the slavery era. Lots of ways to interpret that.
