Certainly better than my first attempts. I use Gimp for my logos, got a lot of help and encouragement on these boards from EnglishRay, DCHepler, NoPepper and others. Here are some examples of logos I did with Gimp for my fictional historical league (trying to get an old-time feel with the design/lettering).
