I don't think there have been any published reports that directly state that he uhh,--engaged the services of a 'working girl', but the implication is certainly there. Most all major universities are very sensitive about the image they project--and the head coach at a legendary football program like Alabama certainly has a lot to do with that image. I think he should have known better.

Sadly, Ervin, I think you're right about the reason for his firing.
Only in the South would this happen IMO. Funny that anything could possibly tarnish the image of the land of inbreeding and gun racks. (Not you Cooley - some of my best friends are from Tennessee!

First of all, if they don't have some better evidence that he went to a hooker, they shouldn't make some sort of dark, irrebuttable innuendo. This is NOT the same as Eustachy - mainly because in Eustachy's case, the parents of those girls (and guys) he was partying with are going to rightfully worry that this 49-year-old drunk is going to corrupt their kids. Price was not involving any undergrads in his escapades.
In addition - they are getting it all wrong about what kind of "message" it's sending. The message the past few years is that Alabama is a program in hideous disarray. This firing will only highlight the Keystone Kops routine there. They are likely to find it very difficult to compete for recruits in that kind of environment.
As for whether he should have known better, he absolutely should have. His wife should kick his ass, and probably throw him out on it. But this has no relevance to the guy's job - he wasn't abusing his position in any way. He was just a horny, cheating bastard - if all of those guys lost their jobs, the unemployment rate in this country would be at about 50% for men.
